Alamo Car Rental Scam Part 1/3

Alamo Car Rental Scam – Tampa, Florida International Airport: I rented a vehicle from Alamo for a week throught Hotwire.com. When I arrived, I presented my reservation and was directed to the rental lot to choose a full size vehicle that I reserved and prepaid through Hotwire.com. After I chose my full size vehicle, I was told to drive to the gate and present my reservation papers, drivers’ license and a credit card. I waited in line and at the gate presented the required papers and drove off. When I got to my hotel and started to unload my luggage I noticed that under the drivers’ side rear fender/bumper area there appeared to be a white scuff/scrape and upon closer inspection, the vehicle had a long damage along the rear fender to the rear bumper area. The paint from the scuff/scrape appeared old and somewhat dried. When I took the vehicle back to the airport the Alamo agent did a quick walk through, open the drivers’ door and looked at the milage/gas and started to key into his little device when I told him I only wanted to exchange for another vehicle and he asked me why. I told him that there was a scuff/scrape to the drivers’ rear fender to the rear bumper and he asked me to show him. He did not even see it during his walk through because it was more under the body. I showed him the damage and he said he had to make a report before I can exchange for another vehicle. I went down to the counter and got a new vehicle by going to the rental lot and picking another
