can I file an insurance claim on my renters insurance policy for a loss that happend 2 years ago?

I had a theft that is covered under my renters insurance policy, but it was almost two years ago and want to know if I can still file that claim?

    You’re going to have a really hard time getting that paid.

    If you filed a police report at the time, you sure can try to file the claim. If you didn’t file the police report, then there was no theft, legally, and the insurance won’t pay.

    Yes you can file it, however the chances of the insurer actually covering the loss is practically zero, however you might as well file and see what happens.

    There is a time limit to file in every state. Probly the statue of limitations has probly run out.
