Question by Olivia: Can you purchase flood insurance if a county tells you that you aren’t in a flood zone?
The county I live in told my mother in law that she could not purchase flood insurance for her home, because she was not in a flood zone. Is there any way around this? Besides she said she is willing to pay for it.

You have the obvious legal right to purchase any insurance you wish, assuming you can find an insurance company willing to provide the required cover.
