Does the state of Florida offer auto repair insurance?

Question by dittychick: Does the state of Florida offer auto repair insurance?
We have a 2003 Saturn Vue that needs nothing short of a 4,000 dollar transmission job. We’re nervous about investing that much more into the car but would feel a lot better about it if we could find this “repair insurance” I’ve been hearing about. I guess you pay a flat fee every month and your vehicle repairs are taken care of depending on your degree of coverage. Does anyone know of a list of which states that offer this miracle? Or how to find these companies? Do they even exist or was this all just a dream?

No, there’s no such thing as repair insurance. You MIGHT be talking about an “extended warranty”, which you can get pretty easily – but it has a whole bunch of exclusions, and a deductible.

Any Saturn dealer can talk to you about an after market extended warranty.
