Earthquake Rattled Mexico- No Deaths
Transcript by www.newsy.com BY XIAONAN WANG ANCHOR MEGAN MURPHY Two strong aftershocks overnight, hours after a massive 7.4-magnitude earthquake rocked Mexico. The major quake shook the epicenter in Guerrero state, rattling the populous capital along with southern coastal resorts. The trembler cracked buildings, destroyed roads and bridges, but apparently showed mercy when it came to lives. ABC has the details. “This morning the Mexican government is reporting only 11 injuries and no deaths, numbers that are so small that are almost impossible to believe.” This earthquake revived memories of an 8.0 earthquake in Mexico city almost 27 years ago. By contrast, that quake claimed 10000 lives. So, why is the outcome so different this time? An Atlantic reporter attributes the improvement to the government performance. “Already today, the government’s response has also been one of immediate communication and action…The response today across all levels of government (and regardless of party) shows how much Mexico has changed.” The Mexico City mayor broke the news soon after the earthquake on Twitter. Analysts say no casualties is partly due to low rural houses in the center area. But a catastrophe modeling engineer told Insurance Journal that the country is generally more physically prepared for temblor after the 1985 lessons. “In large urban areas, such as Mexico City, most middle- to upper-class families live in five- to fifteen-story tall reinforced concrete commercial …

What is earthquake insurance the best bargain and fast service?
Question by toodd: What is earthquake insurance the best bargain and fast service?
Best answer:
Answer by StephenWeinstein
Like most insurance questions, this one is different in each place. For example, in California, the only earthquake insurance is from the California Earthquake Authority. But that insurance is only in California. There is no earthquake insurance available, at any price, nationwide. Any earthquake insurance either is only for California or is not for California; there is none that is for California and for other places.
So, the best answer is: The best for you is the insurance that is for where you live. To get any other insurance, you would have to move.
No one can say which is best for you without knowing where you live, because it is different in every place.
